MGO (methylglyoxal) and UMF (Unique Manuka Factor) are both a trusted Manuka honey grading systems, they both measure MGO (methylglyoxal) content.  Not all Manuka Honey are equal, hence testing for MGO levels is very important and a requirement.

MGO grading system is something everyone can use without any membership fees. The UMF, on the other hand, is a commercial privately owned trademark that reflects the quality they promote. To join UMF you need to pay their membership fees and abide by their terms of use for the UMF trademark. The correlation between MGO and UMF grading system can be found in the UMF website.

You can use both MGO and UMF trademark (if a member) in your private label if you think it will add value, but we will leave these options to brand owners.

All our Manuka honey supply is complete with supporting third-party independent laboratory tests that complies to NZ Ministry of Primary Industry's (MPI) definition of Manuka Honey. MPI's Manuka Chemical Markers defines the grade of Manuka honey at the time of testing. Analytica Laboratories is one of the accredited labs that usually test for this here in NZ.

Either grading system you decide to use, we test all that is required for both MGO and UMF anyway, hence our honey will comply with NZ government and to both grading systems.

OUR MOQ

600KG is our usual Minimum Quantity Orde

Our usual Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) starts at 600kg. Most of NZ honey, especially Manuka Honey, crystalizes quite fast. To prevent this, most of the practice here in NZ is to cream the honey, stirring it slowly to spread the natural sugar crystals evenly. To do this, we need to put the honey into the creaming tank. 600kg is the perfect volume in order for the honey to be touching the stirring blades, and be stirred properly.

We can supply this 600kg in three different mix sizes of 250G, 500G or 1KG if requested, as long as each type of honey is ordered starting from 600kg.
